CommentLuv is simply a WordPress plugin that puts a link to your latest posts whenever you comment on a CommentLuv enabled site. This will help you big time especially if you are one of the earliest to comment on a CommentLuv enabled site because people will look at your post title first before they could leave any comments. You are at the top! Even if other people read the post without commenting, they could still see your post title at the end of the entry. Maybe only 10% would be interested, but still it is good traffic. Not to mention the free exposure.
This plugin is the most revolutionary idea in encouraging people to comment more. This plugin is good for beginners because getting more comments/commentators is simply better than getting more traffic.

While commentluv is a great plugin, I do think its nevertheless a arguable subject that nofollow links actually make a difference. Sometimes it nearly appears as though it depends on the web site ; if its a nothing blog then the nofollowed link is nearly worthless, but when its from a high authority website (corresponding to hubpages or ezine articles for example), then it may be pretty sweet though to achieve any PR growth you’ll need dofollow links.
I will sincerely point out you actually come up with a few excellent ideas and I will post a number of suggestions to add to soon.

I can honestly say I’d never heard of commentluv before now. This seems like an excellent tool to use, and something I’ve been looking for without knowing it.

Hello, would you say comentluv has been worthwhile for your blog? I assume you get a lot more visitors because of it, but is there a downside in the amount of time you spend checking comments on your posts? Hope it’s working for you anyway.
I’ve been hesitant to use the plugin on my blog fearing it will encourage more spam. I haven’t read complaints about that from commentluv users, but I wonder if it’s just as bad or worse than using a do follow plugin when it comes to attracting people who just want links, not a genuine interaction with other bloggers.

Well on my opinion to get people to start commenting, they need all the encouragement they can get. The dofollow is temporary I guess, once I get the steady number of comments for every post in the future, then I’ll stop the dofollow. It’s a big advantage when people has this habit of commenting on every post in your blog. More comments just derive more comments! It’s the herd mentality working here.
