Alexa Rank Updated!

Good news. To all those who were waiting for the update on Alexa rank, you should check your website/blog now on Alexa.com because they recently updated it. For your information, Alexa updates its site only quarterly and I guess this is their first update for 2010.

Overall ranking < 200k :D

So what information that is useful based on Alexa rank?

• The important thing in determining your Google PR would be the number of backlinks you have. This is portrayed as the number of sites linking in to your blog. Note that the number is small because it takes a huge amount of time for Alexa to document all the backlinks but from the details about the sites linking in, you are able to know which sites with high Google PR that implements dofollow. It’s always a good practice to check the Alexa rank of people’s blog so that we could get the information about where they get their backlinks from.
• If you’re climbing up ranks, than it’s a good indication that your blog is doing fine and is heading the right direction.
• Getting reviews is great for first impression although you can always work with your friends to write reviews for each other. Why not you write a review for me whenever you’re free and I’ll return the favor later?

Other than that, I’ve just installed the I Like This wordpress plugin. It works like the ‘Like’ function in Facebook. Just innocently press the heart-shaped button at the bottom left of every post if you like my story or tutorial. No registrations what-so-ever. Just for fun! Try it!

From now on I’ll occasionally write in English maybe on certain topics. Don’t worry, I won’t change a thing here. What is already in this blog, will stay here. It’s just that I’m adding new content in English (but you can always comment in Bahasa Malaysia, there’s nothing wrong with that). I’m trying to get a broader readership plus more organic traffic (hopefully). Wish me luck!

Last but not least, thanks a million for taking blog.ariff up to another level. Being in top 200k site in the world is something BIG for a small blog like this.
